About Us

The Mediterranean Sea and Coast Foundation is a no-profit organization that was established by an Act of The Legislature on May 8th, 2015 in the city of Cagliari, capital of the the island of Sardinia.

The original idea for the Mediterranan Sea and Coast (MEDSEA) Foundation came from a group of people involved in the process of making mediterranean sea and coastal areas more sustainable since more than 15 years.

Since the very beginning of our history, we work in collaboration with the DICAAR Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Cagliari, which it is able to ensure the necessary technical and scientific support for the various activities of the Foundation.

The MEDSEA Foundation aims to the protection of Mediterranean marine and coastal ecosystems and the conservation of cultural heritage, according to the principles of the Ecosystem Based Approach and of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management of the Barcelona Convention.
