For over fifty years, Egidio Trainito has observed the sea through his lens. A nature photographer, expert in sustainable tourism development, and actively involved in conservation projects within Marine Protected Areas, he has dedicated his life to documenting marine ecosystems and the intricate relationships that make them so extraordinary.

From 30 May to 1 June 2026, Piazza della Libertà in Santa Teresa Gallura hosted ARTEMIS Village, an educational event dedicated to the sea and the protection of Posidonia oceanica, held as part of the Primavera in Gallura programme promoted by the Municipality of Santa Teresa Gallura.
Voices from the Sea is a series of interviews dedicated to photographers who, through their unique perspective, contribute every day to advancing knowledge and awareness of the marine environment and its conservation. The first guest in the series is Luca Tamagnini, underwater photographer and Mediterranean storyteller.
On the first truly sunny Saturday by the sea of the season, more than 250 volunteers gathered for “Puliamo La Sella!” at one of the most popular stretches of coastline in Cagliari, where the Posidonia sea grass washed ashore continues to remind us of both the value and fragility of coastal ecosystems.

A €3.5 million funding allocation from the Sardinia Region is launching the operational phase of the Action Programme for the Marine-Coastal Wetlands Contract of the Oristano area. The resources, assigned to the Municipality of Nurachi as lead authority, will support monitoring activities on water dynamics and interventions aimed at tackling coastal erosion.
